Justin Timberlake will address past controversies involving Janet Jackson and Britney Spears in a new docuseries.
The four-part project is set to premiere on Apple TV in December 2026. Fisher Stevens serves as the director. Reports indicate the series will adopt a tell-all format.
The program will examine the 2004 Super Bowl halftime show. During that performance, Timberlake pulled back part of Jackson's costume, exposing her breast. The incident, which viewers later labeled Nipplegate, generated hundreds of thousands of complaints. The Federal Communications Commission launched an investigation into the broadcast.
Jackson absorbed much of the public criticism following the event. Timberlake continued his music career and later issued a public apology to Jackson. He stated that he benefited from a system that tolerated misogyny and racism.
The series will also cover Timberlake's relationship with Britney Spears. In her 2023 memoir, The Woman in Me, Spears detailed their breakup. She discussed alleged infidelity and a difficult decision regarding an unexpected pregnancy.
Representatives for Timberlake, Jackson, and Apple have not confirmed the reported details. The announcement follows recent personal challenges for Timberlake. He was arrested for driving while intoxicated in 2024. In July 2025, he disclosed a diagnosis of Lyme disease.
