Jay-Z has never performed at a Super Bowl halftime show, yet he will now take the stage for the biggest one. The NFL, Apple Music, and the rapper announced the booking on Monday for the Feb. 14, 2027, game at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
Roc Nation, Jay-Z's company, has managed the halftime production since 2019. The firm recently signed a five-year extension that keeps it in the role through 2029. Under that contract, the shows have shifted toward hip-hop and rap. Last year's performance at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, featured Bad Bunny with guest appearances by Lady Gaga and Ricky Martin.
Los Angeles previously hosted the 2022 halftime show, which included Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Mary J. Blige, and Kendrick Lamar, with cameos by 50 Cent and Anderson .Paak. Other recent headliners include Kendrick Lamar and SZA in 2025, Usher in 2024, and Rihanna in 2023.
The 25-time Grammy winner has toured this year to mark the 30th anniversary of his debut album "Reasonable Doubt" and the 25th anniversary of "The Blueprint." The Jay-Z 30 Tour opened with three nights at Yankee Stadium in July. It then moved to London for two shows and Paris for one in September.
His final scheduled concerts took place on Oct. 23 and 24 at SoFi Stadium. Those two nights will now serve as a direct warm-up for his upcoming Super Bowl performance at the same venue.
