Thaddea Graham will receive the Wilde Card Award at the 21st annual Oscar Wilde Awards. The ceremony is organized by the US-Ireland Alliance and is scheduled for March 11 at the Ebell in Los Angeles. The event takes place three days before the Academy Awards.

Trina Vargo, president of the US-Ireland Alliance, explained that the specific award is given to individuals the organization expects the public to hear from frequently. Previous recipients of this honor include Saoirse Ronan, Barry Keoghan, Sarah Bolger, and Eve Hewson.

The program also features Irish American actor Jack Reynor, who was named an honoree last month. Singer Shobsy will perform at the event. The awards recognize contributors to film, television, and music who are Irish or of Irish descent.

Graham is known for her roles in Netflix series Sex Education and Apple TV productions Bad Sisters and Margo’s Got Money Troubles. She appeared in Luca Guadagnino’s film After the Hunt last year alongside Julia Roberts, Ayo Edebiri, Andrew Garfield, and Michael Stuhlbarg. She is currently working with Guadagnino on the upcoming film Artificial, in which Garfield portrays OpenAI CEO Sam Altman. She also played a personal assistant in Noah Baumbach’s 2025 film Jay Kelly.

Born in Changsha, China, Graham was found as an infant and adopted at 13 months. Her parents brought her to County Down in Northern Ireland, making her one of the first Chinese-born children adopted in the region. She has credited strangers for her survival. In an April interview with The London Times, she stated, "I always say I would not be here had it not been for the kindness of strangers."

Her television career includes a role as the head of Sherlock Holmes’ street urchins in The Irregulars on Netflix. She also recurred on the BBC series Doctor Who in 2021. In 2023, she played a therapist in the final season of Sex Education. She portrayed detective Una Houlihan in the second season of Bad Sisters in 2024 and has played the roommate of Elle Fanning’s character in Margo’s Got Money Troubles this year.

Graham has noted the impact of her representation on viewers from Asian backgrounds. After an Emmy event for Bad Sisters last year, she told The Times that many people expressed admiration for seeing her as a lead character. She highlighted that her different accent added to the diversity of the show's characters.
