Jack Lowden sits at 4/6 to become the next James Bond, making him the clear favorite among bookmakers. Callum Turner follows at 11/4, while Josh O'Connor is priced at 8/1. Robert Pattinson appears in the top five at 12/1. The betting market reflects the intense public interest in who will succeed Daniel Craig in the role.

Lowden has kept a low profile regarding the speculation. In a conversation with British GQ, the 36-year-old actor described the rumors as flattering but chose not to elaborate. He noted that he does not listen to the chatter. His response was brief, indicating a preference for staying out of the spotlight until an official announcement is made.

The buzz intensified after Gary Oldman, Lowden's co-star on the Apple TV+ series Slow Horses, offered comments to Canada's Global. Oldman suggested that producers had already made their choice but had not yet revealed it publicly. He expressed hope for his younger colleague. This endorsement added weight to the belief that the casting decision is near finalization.

Lowden's wife, Saoirse Ronan, also addressed the media attention. Speaking to the Associated Press, she joked that Oldman thinks he is James Bond. She emphasized that the couple is focused on daily life, such as walking their dog and preparing dinner. Their reaction provides a grounded perspective amidst the Hollywood frenzy.

Industry reports indicate that the selection process is in its final stages. Lowden, Turner, and O'Connor are linked to screen tests at London's Bray Studios. A fourth unnamed contender has also reportedly participated in the process. The next film will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who previously directed Dune.

Amazon MGM Studios now oversees the franchise following the conclusion of Craig's tenure with No Time To Die in 2021. The studio confirmed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that the search is underway. They noted that they do not plan to comment on specific details during casting but are excited to share news when the time is right.

Lowden brings specific credentials to the table. He received an Emmy nomination for his role as River Cartwright in Slow Horses. His film credits include Dunkirk, Mary Queen of Scots, and Benediction. He stated that when male actors wear suits and stop playing eccentric characters, the Bond rumors tend to surface. The odds have shifted significantly in his favor, but no official announcement has been made.
