Australia Rest Pace Trio for England White-Ball Tour
Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc sit out the upcoming ODI and T20 series against England to prepare for a dense Test schedule.

The Australian cricket team has excluded its leading fast bowlers from the squads for the upcoming white-ball series against England.
Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, and Mitchell Starc will not play in the three-match One Day International series starting in Perth on November 13. All three veterans played in the recent Test series against South Africa, which Australia lost by a score of 2-1.
Cummins and Hazlewood are also omitted from the five-match T20 series beginning on November 21. Starc, aged 36, has already retired from that format. Mitchell Marsh, the T20 captain, will serve as the ODI captain in Cummins' absence. Cummins formally retains the ODI captaincy title, but he has played only one 50-over match since November 2024.
Mahli Beardman, 21, was selected for both squads and may make his ODI debut. The T20 squad includes uncapped players Sam Harper and Lachlan Shaw. Nathan Ellis is named only in the T20 team after suffering a side strain during the September tour of South Africa and Zimbabwe. Jack Edwards, who made his debut on that tour, appears in both lists.
Alex Carey, Cooper Connolly, Cameron Green, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, and Matt Renshaw are selected for the ODI squad but are not included in the T20 team. Liam Scott returns to the ODI squad after one match against Bangladesh in June. Nikhil Chaudhary and Joel Davies are selected for the T20 matches, their only appearances in that format to date.
The players rest ahead of a demanding Test schedule. Australia begins a four-match home series against New Zealand on December 9. A five-Test series against India starts on January 21. A single Test against England to mark 150 years of the Ashes is scheduled for March 11 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
The season continues with a potential World Test Championship final on June 9, followed by the five-Test Ashes series running from June 18 to August 2. The ODI World Cup in South Africa, Namibia, and Zimbabwe begins on October 7.
