Arsenal moved to the top of the Premier League standings on Sunday following a 1-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield. The win extends the Gunners' lead to three points over Manchester City, giving them eight victories in their first nine league matches of the season.

Kai Havertz scored the only goal of the match. Despite Liverpool's efforts, they failed to register a single shot on target against Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. Mikel Arteta credited his entire squad for the defensive performance, noting the difficulty of blocking shots from a team that creates many chances.

"I didn't know about that statistic but that's incredible," Arteta said regarding Raya's clean sheet. He added that the team had to be consistent in preventing spaces, calling the effort against such a strong opponent "something remarkable."

The defensive solidity was the hallmark of the match. Arsenal have conceded just five goals in their nine Premier League appearances. Three of those goals came in their sole defeat to Brighton. This defensive record underpins their position at the summit of the table.

Tensions remained high after the final whistle. Piero Hincapie posted three images from the game on Instagram with the caption, "I don't forget…" The final picture was a close-up of the gold Premier League badge on the sleeve of the Arsenal kit.

The gold badge is reserved exclusively for the defending champions. Hincapie's post served as a direct response to Virgil van Dijk's social media activity in January. At that time, van Dijk shared a similar image of the badge while Liverpool were the title holders, following a goalless draw at the Emirates.

The exchange highlights the ongoing rivalry between the two clubs. While Liverpool finished fifth in the previous season, Arsenal are currently in a strong position to retain the title. The match itself was described as entertaining despite the low scoreline, with incidents including Alexis Mac Allister's challenge on Noni Madueke drawing criticism from pundits.
