Konotop has been without electricity for four days after Russian strikes on 23-24 October, with no forecast for when power will be restored. The city’s mayor, Artem Semenikhin, reported that as of 26-27 October, the city is still without electricity, and most of Konotop has also lost its gas supply. Semenikhin said the city has no electricity and most of it has no gas, and educational institutions have been damaged, with the hospital now running on generators. Water is also being supplied on a schedule: from 06:00 to 09:00 and from 18:00 to 21:00. Sumyoblenergo, the regional power distribution company, said emergency repair crews are working around the clock to deal with the damage caused by the strikes, but the timeframe for the work depends on the security situation and whether crews can access the damaged sites.
The city has been without power for four days, and there are no forecasts for when power will be restored. No forecasts at all, said Semenikhin. Russian forces launched a large-scale drone attack on the Konotop hromada after 03:00 on 24 October, hitting energy facilities, a school and houses, causing a blackout. A Russian drone struck a civilian agricultural business in the Konotop district on the afternoon of 24 October, killing one farm worker and injuring four others.
