Registered voters in Washington, D.C., may cast their ballots at any polling location in the city on Tuesday, November 3, regardless of their home address. The District of Columbia Board of Elections released the official list of sites for the 2026 midterm elections, distributing venues across all eight wards. This flexibility allows residents to choose a location that best fits their schedule or accessibility needs without being tied to a specific precinct.

Polling places are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on a continuous basis. The Board noted that specific venues marked with an asterisk in the official guide have accessibility restrictions. Voters who require special assistance are advised to review these conditions before selecting a site. The guidelines apply to all eight wards, ensuring uniform access rules across the capital.

The distribution of sites spans educational institutions, community centers, and libraries. In Ward 1, voters can use Marie Reed Elementary School, Bancroft Elementary School, and the Columbia Heights Community Center. Ward 2 features high traffic locations including the Georgetown Neighborhood Library, the M.L.K. Jr. Memorial Library, and the West End Public Library.

Ward 3 sites include Janney Elementary School, the Chevy Chase Community Center, and the University of the District of Columbia. Ward 4 offers the Barnard Elementary School and the Emery Heights Community Center. These locations serve as primary voting hubs for residents in the northern and central parts of the city.

Ward 5 operations will utilize McKinley Technology High School and Dunbar Senior High School. In Wards 6 and 7, key sites include Eastern Market, Jefferson Middle School Academy, Kelly Miller Middle School, and the Deanwood Recreation Center. These venues are positioned to handle high volumes of voters in densely populated areas.

Ward 8 infrastructure includes THEARC, Anacostia Senior High School, Ballou Senior High School, and the Arthur Capper Community Center. Additional local recreation centers and churches are also designated as voting sites in this ward. Residents can verify specific details and resolve questions by visiting www.dcboe.org.

The Board of Elections confirmed the list is final for the 2026 midterm cycle. Voters should arrive during the 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. window to ensure their ballots are processed. The uniform access policy remains in effect for all registered capital residents.
