Washington secured a 27-10 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday Night Football, ending the visitors' six-game losing streak. The Commanders trailed 10-0 after the first quarter but used an 11-0 fourth-quarter run to close out the contest. This win improves Washington's record to 2-4-1, while Philadelphia falls to 2-6.

The game began with Philadelphia establishing control. The Eagles took a 10-0 lead in the opening frame, creating a deficit that threatened to define the night. However, the momentum shifted as Washington mounted a response. The Commanders erased the gap and took the lead, eventually extending their advantage late in the game.

Quarterback Jayden Daniels guided Washington back into the game. He completed 16 of 29 pass attempts for 217 yards and one touchdown, while avoiding interceptions. Daniels also scrambled for 23 yards on two runs. His performance showed flashes of his rookie season form, though analysts noted his pocket awareness remains inconsistent.

Philadelphia's offensive struggles were evident throughout the contest. Star running back Saquon Barkley, who had injury concerns leading up to the game, managed only 30 yards on 13 carries. Despite scoring a first-quarter touchdown, Barkley's production dropped significantly. Backup Elijah Mitchell handled 11 carries as the Eagles attempted to sustain drives.

The fourth quarter proved decisive. Washington capitalized on a defensive stand to build the winning margin. Backup quarterback Tanner McKee struggled to find rhythm for Philadelphia during the final minutes. The Eagles' inability to convert key downs allowed Washington to control the clock and secure the win.

The result leaves the NFC East in flux. The New York Giants currently lead the division with a 4-2-1 record, though they sit with a bye week. The Dallas Cowboys dropped to 3-5 after losing a lead to the Arizona Cardinals at home. Washington continues to search for a consistent identity, while Philadelphia navigates a season hampered by the absence of Jalen Hurts and other key personnel.

The Commanders will look to build on this momentum in their next fixture. The Eagles must address their injury report and offensive cohesion as they face the remainder of their schedule. The division race remains tight, with four teams separated by fewer than three games at the top.
