Apple Music Error Page: Interactive iPod Replica
Visitors to music.apple.com can now access a functional digital clone of the 2001 device by entering a non-existent URL path.

25 years have passed since Apple introduced the original iPod on October 23, 2001. To mark the date, the company has embedded a hidden interactive feature within its streaming platform.
The tribute appears on the error page for missing content. A user known as Kian identified the feature on the X platform. Instead of a standard 'Page Not Found' message, the browser displays a working replica of the classic player. Visitors can trigger the display by navigating to music.apple.com/ipod or by appending any invalid path to the main domain.
The digital device replicates the physical hardware controls. Clicking the on-screen buttons allows users to navigate through pre-installed tracks. The scroll wheel functions as well, responding to click-and-drag inputs to mimic the turning motion of the original device.
The playlist consists of songs by artists who were prominent in 2001. Selecting a track plays a 90-second preview directly in the web interface. The feature requires no separate application or download.
Apple has not announced any new hardware or product changes for the anniversary. The web tribute serves as a lighthearted reference to the discontinued product. Apple Music remains available at a cost of $11.99 per month, or as part of the Apple One bundle.
