Thirty-five entertainment professionals were selected by the Hollywood Walk of Fame Selection Committee in July 2025 to receive stars in the 2026 class. Among that group are 'Good Morning America' co-anchors Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos. The ceremony is scheduled for Thursday, November 5, at 2:30 p.m. Eastern Time.
The two anchors will join their colleague Michael Strahan, who was honored with a star in 2023. This marks the third time a 'GMA' anchor has been recognized on the famous sidewalk in Hollywood.
Roberts has served as a co-anchor for the show since May 2005. Over her two decades with the program, it has secured multiple Emmy Awards for Outstanding Morning Program. The team also claimed the 2017 People's Choice Award for Favorite Daytime TV Hosting Team. Before joining the morning news crew, Roberts worked as a host on ESPN's 'SportsCenter' and contributed to 'NFL Primetime.' She is also the founder of Rock'n Robin Productions.
Stephanopoulos arrived at ABC News in 1997 as an analyst for 'This Week.' He currently hosts the weekend edition of that program while serving as a 'GMA' co-anchor. His body of work at the network has earned him three Emmys, a DuPont Award, three Edward R. Murrow Awards, and two Cronkite Awards.
Strahan reflected on his own induction during the 2023 ceremony. He expressed surprise at receiving the honor, noting that he had not anticipated the recognition while focusing on his daily work. "You kind of wake up and you're here. But I'm happy I'm here, because I never thought I'd make it here," Strahan said.
He added that his focus shifted from mere enjoyment to a deeper sense of mission. "I found out my purpose is pretty much people," he stated. "My purpose is pretty much to enjoy life and to spread joy and spread happiness.. and to make sure everyone in your life feels important."
