One standing ticket for the upcoming Wembley show is listed at 130.75 pounds. That specific price tag sparked a wave of criticism online and forced the musician to step in with a new plan for his stadium tour. The singer is set to perform across the United Kingdom and Ireland next summer, and the initial cost structure raised eyebrows among his followers.

The controversy began when a user named Gavin Davis posted details of the ticket options for the London venue. The listing showed a front standing zone at 130.75 pounds and a standard standing zone at 98.85 pounds. Seated options ranged from 64.75 pounds to 130.75 pounds. Many fans felt the spread between the cheapest and most expensive spots was too wide for a rock event.

The artist responded directly to the post on Instagram. He admitted he was not happy with the current figures and explained that the costs had risen beyond his original expectations. He stated that any price increase should cover the actual expenses of staging the show. He did not want the ticketing partners to use the event as a source of extra profit.

He also took issue with the way the standing areas were divided. He described the split into front and back tiers as bollocks and confirmed he would not use that setup. The singer expressed surprise that this system had become so common in live music. He promised it would not be part of his tour structure.

The high costs were not just a problem in London. Other cities on the tour listed standing prices above 100 pounds. The top ticket in Newcastle reached 112.90 pounds. Cardiff had a top price of 119 pounds, and Manchester listed the highest at 119.60 pounds. Edinburgh came in at 120.95 pounds, which was the highest price point in the UK lineup.

Presale tickets go on sale this Wednesday morning, and general sales start Friday. The tour will take place during the summer of 2027. Venues include St James’s Park in Newcastle, the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Marley Park in Dublin, Murrayfield in Edinburgh, and the Etihad Stadium in Manchester. This follows a trend where artists challenge high live music costs, similar to comments made by Zara Larsson earlier this year.

The singer also announced that a fourth studio album is in the works. No title or cover art has been revealed yet. This new project follows the success of his 2025 album People Watching, which won a Mercury prize. He is one of the leading voices in contemporary music with hits like Hypersonic Missiles and Seventeen Going Under. He has won five Brit awards and recently collaborated with Olivia Dean on the duet Rein Me In. That song won the 2026 Brit award for song of the year. It spent 23 weeks at number one, making it the longest running number one single in British history.
