Three commercial signals-intelligence satellites entered orbit on Oct. 23, marking the third HawkEye 360 deployment in just two days. Rocket Lab’s Electron rocket lifted off from New Zealand at 3:11 a.m. EDT, carrying the payload into low Earth orbit at an altitude of 323 miles.

The mission, designated "We’re Not Hawking Around," is Rocket Lab’s 98th launch overall and its 19th of 2026. Sixteen of this year’s flights used the 59-foot-tall Electron, while three utilized HASTE, a suborbital variant for hypersonic testing.

HawkEye 360, based in Virginia, builds these spacecraft to collect signal data across the radio frequency spectrum. The company stated that the satellites support maritime tracking, GNSS jamming detection, radar monitoring, communications mapping, and space defense. The firm has operated nearly 50 of these units since its first launch in 2018.

The new satellites will scan the planet for radio frequency emissions once commissioned. HawkEye 360 provides this intelligence to the U.S. government and allied nations. The company said its goal is to enable faster, better decision-making through proprietary signal processing and AI-powered analytics.

This launch follows a SpaceX Bandwagon-5 rideshare mission that deployed three similar satellites just two days prior. The rapid deployment sequence underscores the commercial sector’s growing role in national security infrastructure.
